Dear Collaborators, The level of solar activity is low. The target regions NOAA 12993 and 12994 have continued to decay since the last message and were classed as alpha/H-type and beta/C-type sunspot groups, respectively, at the beginning of the UT day. This pair of regions are rotating up to the North West limb, and once again only NOAA 12994 has produced flares since the last message (C1.1, C1.7 and C2.1 flares on 28-Apr-2022 at 01:27 UT, 04:10 UT and 11:29 UT, respectively). Similar to yesterday, a higher magnitude flare was observed from another region (a C6.7 on 28-Apr-2022 at 02:24 UT from the now unspotted 12996), but the target will remain with NOAA regions 12993/12994 due to their prior flaring history and the advanced decay stage of the previous NOAA 12996. More C-class flares are expected over the following 24-hour period. The position of NOAA 12993/12994 on 28-Apr-2022 at 11:30 UT is: N17W73 , ( 872", 299" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
