Dear Collaborators, Solar activity continues at a very low level. There are five regions with sunspots on the visible solar disk at present, but all of them were flare quiet in the past 24 hours. The largest event during the period was a C1.7 flare at 12:05 UT on June 5 produced by a plage region near NOAA 13029. Today we will watch this plage region. If possible, please also include NOAA 13029 (S17E46) in your field of view, which emerged a tiny spot. B-class activities are expected with a chance of low C-class flares in the next 24 hours. The approximate position of the target on June 6 at 03:30 UT is: S22E55 (-700", -360") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ying Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
