Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a very low level. Target region NOAA 13046 has grown since the last message, forming several small pores and spots with small penumbrae. This region was classified as an alpha/H-type sunspot group at the beginning of the UT day, but it appears to now have a beta/D-type sunspot group classification. Both NOAA 13040 (a beta/C-type sunspot group) and NOAA 13046 produced B-class activity since the last message, with their largest magnitude flares being a B8.3 on 3-Jul-2022 at 15:26 UT and a B7.3 on 2-Jul-2022 at 21:38 UT, respectively. The target will remain on NOAA 13046 due to its recent emergence of new magnetic flux. Further B-class flares are expected in the next 24 hours, with a good chance for a C-class flare. The position of NOAA 13046 on 3-Jul-2022 at 18:00 UT is: N17E39 , ( -571", 238" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
