Dear Collaborators, Solar activity is at a very low level, with only B-class activity since the last message. The target region has now rotated on disk over the North East limb but does not have any spots. This region has remained flare quiet since the last message but displays cool prominence material suspended within its overlying magnetic field structure. NOAA 13068 has undergone flux emergence since the last message and is now classified as a beta-gamma/E-type group. NOAA 13068 becomes the new target as it has strengthened the opposite polarity spot that is in close proximity to the main leading spot. Continued B-class activity is expected in the next 24 hours, with C-class flaring also probable. The position of NOAA 13068 on 2-Aug-2022 at 13:00 UT is: S15W05 , ( 82", -338" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Shaun Bloomfield (Northumbria University) |
