Dear Collaborators, The target region NOAA 13078 produced four low M-class flares (the largest one being an M1.6 at 08/19/04:14 UT) and also numerous C-class flares since the last message. 13078 retains its beta-gamma- delta/D-type configuration, although it appears to enter the decay phase. This region is showing mixed polarities in its leading and trailing portions. We will continue the Major Flare Watch campaign today. Further low M-class flares are expected with a chance of an isolated major flare in the next few days. The position of NOAA 13078 on August 19 at 07:30 UT is: S24W51 (674", -448") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ying Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
