Dear Collaborators, NOAA 13180 has continued to produce low C-class flares since the last message. There is also a new region currently behind the southeast limb that was the source of a long duration C2.4 flare at 07:41 UT day. NOAA 13180 maintains its beta/D-type configuration but has shown signs of flux emergence and polarity mixing in its trailing portion. It shall continue as the target region with further C-level activity likely over the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 13180 on 3-Jan-2023 at 12:30 UT is: N19E23, ( -361", 366" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ryan Milligan (Queen's University Belfast) |
