Dear Collaborators,
NOAA 13182 has continued to produce C-level activity since the X-class flare yesterday, as well as an M1.6 flare at 00:40 UT today. There have also been mid C-class flares from NOAA 13183 in the southwest quadrant, and NOAA 13181 has shown signs of rapid development along the central meridian, but has so far remained quiescent. NOAA 13182 is now classified as a beta-gamma region with an area of almost 500 uH, and shall continue as the target region with a Major Flare watch in effect. Chance remains for an additional >M5 flare. The position of NOAA 13182 on 7-Jan-2023 at 04:30 UT is: S16E56, ( -779", -235" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
