Dear Collaborators, Solar activity is at a low-to-moderate level. Target region NOAA 13242 has decayed slightly since the last message, losing its delta spot but developing internal polarity mixing to be classified as a beta-gamma/ E-type sunspot group. NOAA 13242 continued to produce C-class events in the period. NOAA 13245 grew in terms of sunspot area and complexity to be reclassified as a beta-gamma/D-type sunspot group also producing C-class events as well as the largest magnitude flare - an M1.3 flare on 8-Mar-2023 at 22:35 UT. NOAA 13245 becomes the new target region. Further C-class activity is expected over the next 24 hours, with a good chance for a low M-class flare. The position of NOAA 13245 on 9-Mar-2023 at 15:00 UT is: S23W01 , ( 17", -264" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
