Dear Collaborators, The past 24 hours has seen a resurgence of C-level activity from NOAA 13288, which is now beyond the southwest limb. NOAA 13293 has shown significant signs of decay, while NOAA 13296 has continued to develop and was the source of an M2.1 flare at 07:30 UT today. NOAA 13296 retains its anti-Hale beta/D-type configuration and shall be the new target region, although we shall end the Major Flare Watch campaign at this time. Further low M-class flares possible over the weekend. The position of NOAA 13296 on 5-May-2023 at 11:30 UT is: N16E27, ( -416", 316" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ryan Milligan (Queen's University Belfast) |
