Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has been at a moderate level since the last message. The largest event in the period was an M2.1 compact flare from NOAA 13359 (S20E57, beta/D-type) at 02:29 UT today. 13359 also produced another M-class (M1.1) plus five C-class flares in the period. The target region NOAA 13354 retained a beta-gamma-delta/F-type configuration and underwent flux emergence in its north- western portion, which produced a few C-class flares in the period. The target remains with 13354 due to its magnetic complexity and past flaring history. More C-class events are expected in the following 24-hour period, with a good chance for additional M-class flares. The position of NOAA 13354 on 2-Jul-2023 at 11:30 UT is: N13W51 (716", 182") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
