Dear Collaborators, The target region NOAA 13354 was the source of an X1.1 flare at 22:54 UT yesterday. The region retains its beta-gamma-delta configuration and has increased in area to over 1100uh due to continued flux emergence in its leading sunspot. As such we are implementing a Major Flare Watch campaign at this time due to the increased likelihood of another >M5 flare before the region transits the northwest limb. The position of NOAA 13354 on 3-Jul-2023 at 11:30 UT is: N16W65, ( 823", 239" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ryan Milligan (Queen's University Belfast) |
