Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues at a moderate level. The largest event since the last message was an M2.9 at 07/15/07:21 UT from NOAA 13363. 13363 was also the source of more than ten C- class flares in the period. It retains a beta-delta/D-type configuration. Today the Major Flare Watch region will switch to 13363. The previous target NOAA 13372 produced two low M-class flares, an M1.1 at 09:43 UT and an M2.2 at 10:05 UT on July 15, and also five C-class flares. 13372 retains its beta-delta/E-type configuration. Some other regions (NOAA 13368, 13370, and 13373) produced a few C-class flares as well. Additional low M-class flares are expected with still a chance of an above M5 flare in the next few days. The position of NOAA 13363 on July 16 at 03:30 UT S22W49 (661", -397") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
