Dear Collaborators, Solar activity is at a high level. The largest event is an M5.7 major flare peaking at 00:06 UT, which is still happening now. In addition to this M5.7 flare, the target region NOAA 13363 produced another M5.0 major flare and an M2.7 flare during the last six hours. 13363 retains a beta-delta/D-type configuration and is rotating over the west limb. Note that NOAA 13373 (N07E23) was the source of eight C-class flares and has been designated as a beta-delta/E-type region. The Major Flare Watch will continue on NOAA 13363 for a further 24 hours. Low M-class flares are expected with some chance of additional major flare in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 13363 on July 18 at 03:30 UT S22W76 (849", -369") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
