Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has reached an intermediate level. The largest event since the last message was a C5.7 flare at 23:47 UT on 21-Aug-2023 from the target region. This region remains the highest frequency of flaring and has also produced 5 low-C flares. It shows a high and increasing current helicity. Today the target region shall continue at this region. Please note that NOAA 13413 (N10E66, alpha/H-type) and NOAA 13405 (N10W27, alpha/H-type) also produced several low-C flares. Additional C-class activities are probable in the next 24 hours. The approximate position of the target on 22-Aug-2023 at 11:30 UT S09E88 (-900", -200") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Qiao Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
