Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has returned to low levels since the last message. Yesterday’s target (NOAA 13405) produced the largest event, a C3.9 flare at 13:54 UT on 23-Aug-2023, but it was downgraded to an alpha/H-type configuration. NOAA 13413 was the most productive in the period. It has been classified as a beta/F-type sunspot group and increased in sunspot area and emerged new spots. Today the target region will switch to NOAA 13413. In addition, NOAA 13415 (beta/D-type, S11E55) was also the source of a few low C-class and B-class flares. More C-class activities are probable in the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 13413 on 24-Aug-2023 at 11:30 UT N10E39 (-589", 75") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
