Dear Collaborators, Solar activity is at a low level. Target region NOAA 13451 has decayed further since the last message, decreasing in spot area and magnetic complexity to a beta/D-type group classification. NOAA 13451 has been flare-quiet in the period, while NOAA 13450 (a beta-gamma/E-type group) has produced the most flares - 9 C-class flares, including the largest flare that was a C3.6 on 3-Oct-2023 at 16:56 UT. The target switches to NOAA 13450 due to its higher complexity and current level of flaring. Further C-class activity is expected in the following 24-hour period. The position of NOAA 13450 on 3-Oct-2023 at 20:00 UT is: S18W07 , ( 111", -400" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Shaun Bloomfield (Northumbria University) |
