Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity is low. Target region NOAA 13464 remained stable since the last message, continuing to be classified as a beta/ C-type sunspot group. NOAA 13464 produced one C-class flare in the period, while a new region that is currently rotating into view over the North East limb produced the largest magnitude flare - a C9.9 on 16-Oct-2023 at 15:59 UT. This new limb region becomes the new target. Further C-class activity is expected over the next 24 hours, with a small chance for a low M-class flare. The approximate position of this region on 16-Oct-2023 at 18:00 UT is: N24E87 , ( -878", 385" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
