Dear Collaborators, Solar activity continues at low levels. Yesterday’s target NOAA 13472 (N21W82, beta/C-type) only produced a C1.8 at 13:46 UT on 4-Nov-2023 in the period. However, there were still a few C1 flares from another region NOAA 13480, including a ~C1.3 flare at ~07:40 UT today, associated with a filament eruption and a CME. This region retains a beta/D-type sunspot group, with an increase in spot area. Today the target shall switch back to NOAA 13480. Additional C-class flares are expected in the following 24 hours. The position of NOAA 13480 on 5-Nov-2023 at 08:30 UT is: S09E49 (-723", -195") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Qiao Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
