Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has increased since the last message. The target region near the northeast limb is now numbered as NOAA 13513 and designated as a beta/C-type sunspot region. This region continued to be the most flare-productive region, being the source of more than ten C-class plus three M-class flares, including the largest in the period - an M2.1 at 05:30 UT today. This region continues to undergo flux emergence and shall remain as the target for the following 24 hours. Further C-class flares are expected, with a good chance of additional M-class flares. The position of NOAA 13513 on 6-Dec-2023 at 08:30 UT is: N19E62, (-814",315") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, De-Chao Song (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
