Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at an intermediate level. Yesterday's target region NOAA 13539 has now rotated over the northwest limb. This region produced just one low C-class flare in the period, while its neighboring regions behind the west limb, NOAA 13536 and 13543, were the sources of a C4.2 flare and a C9.6 flare, respectively. Please note that NOAA 13541 (S22W40) is now classified as a beta-delta region, being the source of five low C-class flares in the period. This region shall be the new target region. Further C-level events are expected, with a chance for M-class flares. The position of NOAA 13541 on 14-Jan-2024 at 12:30 UT is: S22W40, (583",-311") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
