20240116 Week Rotation Today Rotation Week 20240118

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has continued at low levels since the last message. Yesterday's target NOAA 13541 only produced two C1 flares. This region retains a beta/C-type configuration but decreases in the sunspot area and number of spots significantly. Today the target will switch to a northeast limb region, which has produced three C-class flares including the largest one in the period, a C2.6 flare at 07:17 UT today. This limb region is rotating onto the visible disk. Further C-class activities are expected in the next 24 hours. The approximate position of the target on January 17 at 08:30 UT is: N27E87 (-840", 450") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
