Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has continued at low levels since the last message. Yesterday's target NOAA 13541 only produced two C1 flares. This region retains a beta/C-type configuration but decreases in the sunspot area and number of spots significantly. Today the target will switch to a northeast limb region, which has produced three C-class flares including the largest one in the period, a C2.6 flare at 07:17 UT today. This limb region is rotating onto the visible disk. Further C-class activities are expected in the next 24 hours. The approximate position of the target on January 17 at 08:30 UT is: N27E87 (-840", 450") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ying Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
