Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has slightly decreased since the last message. The largest events in the period are two C9.0 flares (at 00:23 UT and 04:50 UT, respectively) today produced by the target region NOAA 13561. This region was still the most flare-productive during its approach to the South West limb, and it retains a beta-gamma/D-type sunspot group. Today the target shall continue as NOAA 13561 due to its recent flaring history. Additional C-class activities are expected with a slight chance of a low-M flare over the next 24 hours. The position of NOAA 13561 on 26-Jan-2024 at 08:30 UT is: S17W76 (904", -262") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
