Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has been at a low level in the past 24 hours. The largest event since the last message was a C3.0 flare at 19:59 UT on 26-Jan-2024 from NOAA 13560. This region was classified as a beta/D-type configuration and emerged new sunspots, likely to produce high C-class flares in the following few days. 13560 should become the new target. Yesterday’s target NOAA 13561 produced 8 low-C flares but has almost rotated beyond the west limb. Additional C-class activities are expected. The position of NOAA 13560 on 27-Jan-2024 at 12:30 UT is: S22W55 (741", -313") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Qiao Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
