Dear Collaborators, The level of solar activity is moderate. Target region NOAA 13576 has been stable in terms of sunspot area and number of spots since the last message and remains classified as a beta-delta/E-type sunspot group, but may also have a gamma classification move visible as this rotates further on disk. This region produced only C-class flares in the period, while NOAA 13575 produced an M4.3 flare on 6-Feb-2024 at 02:37 UT - the largest magnitude flare. NOAA 13575 has undergone some consolidation of spots over the past 2 days and is classified as a beta-gamma-delta/D-type sunspot group. The default target region will remain with NOAA 13576 due to its overall size and prior flaring history. Further C-class flaring is expected in the next 24 hours, with a chance for more M-class flares. The position of NOAA 13576 on 6-Feb-2024 at 11:00 UT is: S15E51 , ( -732", -185" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
