Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has been at a low level since the last message. The largest event during the period was a C5.8 at 08:36 UT today produced by target region NOAA 13599. 13599 retains its beta-gamma-delta/D-type configuration and it seems to continue emerging new magnetic fluxes especially in its trailing portion. Today we will continue the Major Flare Watch campaign on this region. An isolated flare above M5 is still likely in the next 24-48 hours. The position of NOAA 13599 on March 11 at 08:30 UT is: S13W46 (678", -133") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Ying Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
