Dear Collaborators, Solar activity continues at a moderate-to-low level. The largest event during the period was an M3.5 flare at 08:32 UT today produced by the target region NOAA 13697. This region was also the source of another M2.6 flare and two low C-class flares. 13697 retains a beta-gamma-delta configuration, but decreases in the sunspot area. The Major Flare Watch will be extended for a further 24 hours with NOAA 13697 as the target region, due to its magnetic complexity and continued flux emergence. Further C- and M-class activity is expected, with a slight chance for an isolated >M5 flare. The position of NOAA 13697 on 5-Jun-2024 at 15:30 UT is: S18W29 (437",-292") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, De-Chao Song (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
