Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a moderate level. The target region NOAA 13697 has produced an M1.3 flare and nine mid-to-high C-class flares in the last 24 hours. 13697 remains a beta-gamma-delta configuration and continues to undergo flux emergence in its trailing portion. The largest magnitude flare in the period was an M4.1 at 08:52 UT today from the southeast limb region (S10E89) mentioned in the previous message. This limb region also produced another two C5.8 flares during the period. However, the Major Flare Watch will remain with NOAA 13697 due to its magnetic complexity, high current helicity, and past flaring history. The position of NOAA 13697 on 7-Jun-2024 at 15:30 UT is: S17W55 (741",-278") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
