Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has increased to a high level since the last message. The largest event was an X1.6 flare at 11:03 UT, happening just now, produced by the target region NOAA 13697 (S19W91). This region also produced another four M-class flares (M1.0, M3.3, M2.3, and M5.3) and several C-class flares during the period. Today we will continue the Major Flare Watch campaign on NOAA 13697 before it completely rotates over the west limb. Further C- and M-class activity is expected, with a chance for additional >M5 flares. The position of NOAA 13697 on 10-Jun-2024 at 11:30 UT is: S19W91 (892",-307") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, De-Chao Song (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
