Dear Collaborators,
*** CORRECTED TARGET COORDINATES *** Solar activity is at a low level. Target region NOAA 13723 has continued to decay further in sunspot area and number of spots since the last message, losing its magnetic polarity mixing to be classified as a beta/C-type sunspot group. Once again, only C-class flares have occurred in the period, with NOAA 12723 again producing one (a C2.3 flare on 28-Jun-2024 at 18:36 UT) while the largest magnitude flare in the period was a C5.9 on 29-Jun-2024 at 15:32 UT attributed to a currently unnumbered region. Additional C-class activity is expected in the next 24 hours, with a small chance for an isolated M-class flare. The position of NOAA 13723 on 29-Jun-2024 at 19:30 UT is: S20W04 , ( 62", -366" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
