Dear Collaborators, The level of solar activity is low-to-moderate. Target region NOAA 13730 has decreased slightly in sunspot area and number of spots since the last message, but this is likely partly due to its rotation towards the South West limb. This region has now been reclassified as a beta/B-type sunspot group and produced just one flare, a C4.2 on 4-Jul-2024 at 12:21 UT. The largest magnitude flare in the period, an M1.0 on 4-Jul-2024 at 14:06 UT, came from the plage remnants of the sunspot region previously numbered as NOAA 13723. More C-class activity is expected over the following 24-hour period, with a chance for additional low M-class flares. The position of NOAA 13730 on 4-Jul-2024 at 15:30 UT is: S18W81 , ( 886", -299" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
