Dear Collaborators, The level of solar activity has continued to be moderate. The target region NOAA 13751 was a source of an M1.5 flare at 08:28 UT today. 13751 has undergone slight decay since the last message but has remained a beta-gamma-delta/E-type sunspot group. The MM#003 Major Flare Watch continues for a further 24 hours with NOAA 13751 as the target. Please also note that NOAA 13744 (beta/C-type, N15W77) produced two M1 flares as it rotated toward the North West limb, with the largest event in the period (an M1.6 at 18:36 UT yesterday). Continued low-M activity is possible with a chance of a >M5 flare in the next 24-hour period. The position of NOAA 13751 at 11:30 UT on 21-Jul-2024 is: S09W22 (350", -222") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan. Regards, Qiao Li (Purple Mountain Observatory) |
