Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has remained at a moderate level since the last message. Several flares were produced in the last 24 hours, the largest being an M1.2 from NOAA 13874 at 22:47 UT yesterday. NOAA 13780 remains classified as a beta-gamma-delta with a sustained area of 1100 μh. Given the complexity and significant size of NOAA 13780, the Major Flare Watch will continue with NOAA 13780 as the target region, however attention should also be paid to NOAA 13784 due to the notable dynamic sunspot activity from this region. Further C- and M-class activity is expected, with a slight chance for an isolated >M5 event in the next 24-48 hours. The position of NOAA 13780 on 13-August-2024 at 11:30 UT is: S10W41, (613",-244") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
