Dear Collaborators, Solar activity continues at a low-moderate level. A number of flares were produced over the last 24 hours, the largest being an M1.6 from NOAA 13784 at 10:24 UT today. NOAA 13784 has shown signs of decay as it approaches the western limb, however this region is still classified as a beta-gamma-delta with an area of 600 μh . The Major Flare Watch will continue while NOAA 13784 remains on the disk. Further C-class activity is expected with a slight chance for an isolated >M5 flare in the next 24-48 hours. The position of NOAA 13784 on 17-August-2024 at 11:30 UT is: N15W41, (602",162") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
