MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

The level of solar flare activity is extremely low. The background x-ray flux is currently flat at the B1 level. The visible solar disk is nearly spotless again today. The target will switch from spotless NOAA 2113 to a recently emerged region with a small D-type/beta sunspot group. No significant solar flare activity expected in the next 24 hour period.

The position of the target on July 18 at 11:30 UT is: N08W23 (Solar X = 367", Solar Y = 062")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.

Regards,
