MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

The current level of solar flare activity remains at an extremely low level. The background x-ray flux is flat at the B1 level. The small target region (NOAA 2118, N07W41) has decayed significantly in the past 24 hours. The target will switch to recently emerged NOAA 2119. 2119 is displaying a small B-type sunspot group with a simple beta magnetic configuration. No significant solar flare activity expected anytime soon.

The position of NOAA 2119 on July 19 at 17:00 UT is: S23E06 (Solar X = -091", Solar Y = -440")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
