Subject: MM#009 Default HESSI Target Date: Fri, 26 Sep 2014 12:11:25 -0700 Dear RHESSI Collaborators, The level of solar activity is low to moderate. Since the previous message, yesterday's target (NOAA 12172) released several high C-class events, including a C8.7 flare on 26-Sep-2014 at 05:43 UT. New flux emergence is evident to the SW of its leading portion. The region does not show a strong polarity separation line, but exhibits a gamma configuration. On the other hand, NOAA 12172 (responsible for moderate C-class activity, so far) has emerged rapidly since the previous message and exhibits a strong shearing delta configuration, evidenced by the rapidly moving positive sunspot. High C-class activity is expected, with a chance for an M-class event. The position of NOAA 12175 on 26-Sep-2014 19:15 UT is: N15W23, ( 356", 144" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
