Solar activity continues at low levels. The largest event since the last message was a C1.6 flare from spotless NOAA 12492 at 05:22 UT. The target region NOAA 12497 continues to show sign of flux emergence and development but retains its beta configuration. Chance for further isolated low-level events over the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 12497 on 8-Feb-2016 at 15:30 UT is:
N13E40, ( -610", 300" )
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
