Subject: MM#003 Major Flare Watch" - Date: Sat, 21 Oct 2017 11:16:46 +0100 Dear RHESSI Collaborators, The level of solar activity is moderate-to-high. The target region has rotated its leading spot over the South East limb and produced an M1.1 flare on 20-Oct-2017 at 23:10 UT. This partially limb-occulted event is from the region previously designated as NOAA 12682 and 12673 that was the source of significant flare activity on its last two disk passages. As a result, we are initiating a MM#003 Major Flare Watch (MFW) at this time. C-class flares are expected over the next 24 hours, with a good chance for further M-class activity. The approximate position of this region on 21-Oct-2017 at 10:00 UT is: S10E88, ( -948", -170" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
