Subject: MM#003 Major Flare Watch" - Date: Sun, 22 Oct 2017 19:48:51 +0100 Dear RHESSI Collaborators, The level of solar activity is low-to-moderate. The target region has been designated as NOAA 12685. This region has a surprisingly simple magnetic configuration, classified as an alpha/H-type sunspot group. NOAA 12685 has produced no flaring activity since the M1.1 event on 20-Oct-2017 at 23:10 UT. The MM#003 Major Flare Watch will remain in place for the following 24 hours. C-class flares are probable with a chance for another M-class flare. The position of NOAA 12685 on 22-Oct-2017 at 18:30 UT is: S11E64, ( -850", -222" ) See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
