Dear Collaborators, Solar activity has continued at a low level. The largest event since the last message was a C1.0 flare at 03:34 UT today from NOAA 13631 (N11W55, alpha/A-type). A plage region mentioned before has gained its number NOAA 13634 and has been classified as an alpha/A-type sunspot group. It produced two high-B flares and was in proximity to a region near the northeast limb (N20E87). This limb region was a source of a B9.2 flare. Today the target region shall switch to NOAA 13634 from NOAA 13633. Interested observers should include the limb region (N20E87) in their field-of-view as well if possible. NOAA 13633 was still flare-quiet in the period. More B-class activities are expected with additional low-C flares possible in the following 24 hours. The position of NOAA 13634 on 9-Apr-2024 at 11:30 UT is: N27E47 (-625", 494") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
