MM#009 Default HESSI Target

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

The Major Flare Watch target (NOAA 2151, S07E49) has been quiescent since the major M5.9 event at 08/24/12:17 UT. 2151 is the decayed return of flare-active old NOAA 2130. 2151 currently has a simple C-type/beta sunspot group. It appears that the M5.9 event was the last large flare from this region. The new target will be NOAA 2146. 2146 has displayed rapid flux emergence in the past 48 hours. The new flux is located adjacent (south) to the old large leader sunspot creating an interesting D-type/beta-delta magnetic configuration. 2146 was the source of C-class activity in the past 24 hours and the M2.0 event at 08/25/15:11 UT. C-class events probable with the chance of another M-class event in the next 24-48 hours.

The position of NOAA 2146 on August 25 at 11:30 UT is: N09W40 (Solar X = 604", Solar Y = 059")
