Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

Solar activity continues at low levels. The largest event since the last message was a C5.2 flare from NOAA 12166 at 11:31 UT today. A large sunspot group, designated NOAA 12172, has rotated onto the southeast limb and shall be the new target region. It has produced several low C-class flares over the past 24 hours and appears to have a beta-gamma configuration. Further low-level activity expected.

The position of NOAA 12172 on 21-Sep-2014 at 15:35 UT is:

S09E66, ( -863", -195" )

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
