Subject: MM#009 Default HESSI Target Date: Sat, 9 Jul 2016 15:04:04 -0600 Dear RHESSI Collaborators, Solar activity is at a low level. The largest event since the last message was a C2.6 flare at 15:49 UT on July 9 produced by the target region, now designated as NOAA 12564. NOAA 12564 was also the source of a few high-level B-class events. 12564 was classified as an Alpha/H-type sunspot group, but seems to have a beta-gamma magnetic complexity. It is displaying bright surges in H-alpha images. Low-to-mid C-class activities are likely in the following 24 hours. The position of NOAA 12564 on July 9 at 20:20 UT is: N10E67 (-856", 139") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
